In 1967, Robert Hockett branched out from full-time farming, joined
with Allied Chemical and became one of the first liquid fertilizer
distributors in the Willamette Valley.
Then in 1976, Hockett teamed up with 4 other local farmers to form
Marion Ag Services Inc. Two years later, Hockett bought out his
partners and Marion Ag Service became the largest distributor of
Ashgrove Lime in western Oregon.
